Mobile back-to-school shopping is on the rise... again.

July 30, 2015

46% of shoppers will use a tablet to make their back-to-college purchases. 31% plan to purchase via smartphone—a new high for the annual NRF survey.

The data collected by NRF also underscore a trend we've been observing here at Monetate for years: Shoppers are buying when and where they want, choosing the most convenient methods available to them. Multichannel retail services such as ship-to-store and in-store pickup are becoming even more popular, with nearly half of online back-to-school shoppers planning to use such services. An additional 41% of college shoppers plan to use their smartphones to research products and compare prices.

Get the full story behind these numbers in this NRF infographic featuring the top ten trends for back-to-school and college 2015. They also put together a handy cheat sheet for the 2015 back-to-school season.
